Džejn Ostin
Džejn Ostin (1775–1817) rođena je u Stiventonu za koji je ostala vezana čitav život, i nikada se nije udala. Imala je šestoro braće i stariju sestru Kasandru sa kojom je bila jako bliska. Jedini portret po kome znamo kako je Džejn Ostin izgledala jeste skica koju je izradila njena sestra i koja se danas nalazi u muzeju u Londonu. Osnovno obrazovanje dobila je u školi za devojke 1783; prvo u Oksfordu, pa u Sautemptonu. Od 1785. do 1786. pohađala je školu za devojke u Redingu. Bila je natprosečno obrazovana za to vreme, pa se rano posvetila pisanju i prvu priču objavila već 1789. Njeni najpoznatiji romani "Gordost i predrasude" i "Razum i osećajnost" i danas su izuzetno popularni i imali su nekoliko filmskih i serijskih ekranizacija.
