Kejt Šopen
Kejt Šopen (Kate Chopin, 1850–1904) bila je američka spisateljica, jedna od preteča feminističke književnosti. Najpoznatija je po romanu The Awakening (1899), koji je u vreme objavljivanja izazvao kontroverze zbog otvorenog prikaza ženske seksualnosti i težnje ka samostalnosti. Pisala je i brojne kratke priče, među kojima se izdvajaju Bayou Folk (1894) i A Night in Acadie (1897), u kojima je prikazivala život i kulturu Luizijane.
